This Sentosa admission ticket from the 1970s has a red colour theme, corresponding with the Red Bus Service that the ticket holder is entitled to ride on. In addition to transport within and entry to Sentosa, the ticket also provides entry to attractions including the Maritime Museum, Fort Siloso and the Swimming Lagoon. In January 1969, the chairman of the Singapore Tourist Promotion Board (STPB; now STB), P. H. Meadows, outlined plans to build a dreamy “south sea island paradise” to "attract millions of sunseeking tourists from all over the world”. Sentosa was progressively developed in the 1970s, with the cable car linking Mount Faber to Sentosa opening in 1974. This was hugely popular, attracting 50,000 passengers a month. Subsequently, attractions such as the Sentosa Golf Club, Sentosa Coralarium, the Palawan Beach Lagoon, a musical fountain, and Fort Siloso (repurposed into an educational pitstop) were completed.
