These seven silver bowls are decorated using a mixture of high-relief and openwork techniques. The bases of all the bowls feature the Chinese character for longevity (Shou). Chinese character marks on the bases of three of the bowls (Da Guang) indicate that they are possibly the work of a Chinese silversmith who operated in Hue, Vietnam. These bowls belonged to a Peranakan family in Singapore and are similar in style to other decorative Chinese export silver items that were popular in the homes of Peranakans.
