This coffee pot features a bamboo form handle, spout and finial. The lid bears engravings of bamboo leaves extending from the base of the finial. The body is decorated with a winding dragon motif in repoussé. An example of Chinese export silver for the European market, items such as these were also popular with Peranakans, who were known to have in their households, items of Chinese export silver such as teapots, coffee pots and decorative bowls, illustrating both the Chinese and Western influences on their lifestyles.
