This is a very rare panorama by Linneaus Tripe (1822-1902), who was a British photographer known for his photographs captured in Burma and India whilst being in the military. In June 1855, Tripe joined a British colonial expedition to Amarapura and Rangoon (Burma) as a photographer, producing over 200 photographs centred around Buddhist architecture and art such as pagodas and monasteries that culminated in a published album “Burma Views”, which circulated widely and was well-received.
