This is a Chinese language publication commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Methodist Community in Malaya. The first Methodist Church established in Malaya is the Malayan Methodist Episcopal Church in 1885 by Reverend James M. Thoburn (1836-1922). The church is now known as Wesley Methodist Church. The book covers the history of the various churches from 1885 to 1935, as well as the various schools that were established by the community. The office for collecting remittance for the publication was situated in Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church, managed by Rev. Hong Han Keng, The chief editor was Rev. Andrew K.T. Chen, pastor of the Foochow Methodist Church. Other editors of the book were Rev. Lim Hong Ban (first pastor of Bukit Panjang Methodist Church) and Rev. Paul S.H. Hang (longest serving pastor of Hinghwa Methodist Church).
