Kwong Wah Yit Poh & Penang Sin Poe 50th Anniversary Publication

This is an anniversary publication for Kwang Wah Yit Poh (光华日报 Guang Hua Ri Bao). It is a Chinese newspaper founded by Dr Sun Yat Sen. The idea of establishing Kwang Wah Yit Poh was first formed by Dr Sun Yat Sen, Hu Hanmin, Huang Xing and Wang Jingwei when they visited Penang, Malaysia in 1907. This plan initially failed due to the lack of financial support. After much effort by the Rangoon branch of the Tongmenghui (同盟会), the Kwang Wah Yit Poh newspaper was finally set up in 1910 and was printed and published from 120 Armenian Street in Penang. The book celebrates Kwang Wah Yit Poh’s 50th anniversary by showcasing its achievements over the decades.
