This ensemble comprises a white bolero jacket embellished with beaded motif of a geometric pine tree. Underneath, a sleeveless dress with peplum takes reference from the obi belt. The geometric shapes and contrasting colours marry references from Japanese origami and Italian Memphis design movement in this Spring/Summer 2015 collection. The Japanese design elements often recurring in Andrew Gn’s collections are a nod to his Japanese heritage and love for its art and culture. Andrew Gn is one of Singapore’s most prolific fashion designers in history, achieving high levels of critical acclaim and industry success. He is the only Singaporean to be a constant feature of Paris Fashion Week since 1995. His creations are known for their elegant, feminine, maximalist aesthetics and are finely crafted, cross-cultural, and reflective of innovation in tradition in fashion. This work is part of his major gift back to Singapore.
