This 1985 Tun Dr Ismail Trophy (Inter Government Services Golf, Johor vs Singapore) was presented to Mr Goh Chok Tong, then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, when he led a 52-member Singapore Civil Service team comprising senior public service officers to Johor to compete against the Johor Civil Service led by Sultan Iskandar Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The Tun Dr Ismail Trophy, inaugurated in 1970, is an annual golf match to promote better relations and understanding between Johor and Singapore government officials.
