Object size: 49.0 x 49.0 x 49.5 cm
This wadah kuih comprises two parts: a pedestal stand and a dome-shaped cover. The tray has serrated edges decorated with chains, not commonly observed in other wadah kueh types. Rows of interlocking squares, vegetal scrolls and geometric shapes repeat on the pedestal base and cover. Crescent moon and star designs appear at the top of the lid. A wadah kuih was used during special occasions or ceremonies to present cakes (kueh) or other food items. As prestige objects, they were ubiquitous to Malay royalty and part of royal regalia. A replica of a wadah kueh from the Perak regalia was made by Elkington & Co. for the purpose of the 1886 Indian and Colonial Exhibition. Presently, this replica is in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
