This Sawankhalok lidded jar is decorated with a band of lotus leaves inscribed under a brown glaze and panels of vegetal scroll designs. Large quantities of ceramics were made at Sukhothai and Sawankhalok kilns for export to Southeast Asia and beyond during the 14th to 16th centuries.
