Francis Chit (1880-1891) was a Siamese photographer who trained under court photographer, Abbé Larnaudie. Having opened a studio titled Francis Chit and Son in Thinburi in 1863, Chit was also the official court photographer for King Rama IV before being promoted to the “Koon Soondr Sadis Lacks” (officer of fine likeness image) by King Rama V. Chit was known for his portraits of royal life and events.
