The designers used innovative additive manufacturing and laser-cutting techniques to create this look, comprising a 3D-printed exoskeleton shell and headdress, matched with an inner dress and shoes. The headdress is an abstract representation of antlers gesturing outwards to form a halo-like effect. The outer shell was designed with a complex, mathematical structure to swirl around the wearer’s body. The inner dress was made from pliable cork fabric and hot-stamped gold foil, laser-cut with intricate, rolling patterns. This look was designed as part of a campaign commissioned by the Scottish whisky brand, Glenfiddich, to celebrate the launch of its Grand Series in 2022.Founded in 2016 by fashion artist Jamela Law and industrial designer Lionel Wong, Baëlf Design specialises in fabrication technologies such as 3D printing and laser cutting. The label also works with generative algorithms to create experimental wearable works that aim to push the boundaries of fashion and art.
