This manual wind ladies watch is by the swiss watchmaker company Pagol, which was popular in Asia in the 1960s and 1970s. It dates to the 1960s, at a time when more women were entering the work force. The watch was both a practical and aesthetic accessory for the working woman. This watch belonged to Sin Mee Kuen, a mandarin teacher in Nan Hua Girls’ School. She would wear it to keep time during her lessons, paired with a cheongsam and heeled shoes.
