This studio portrait of a Chinese woman was taken at Daguerre Studio, founded in the 1930s. This photograph might have been taken by the founder’s son, Lim Ming Joon, who continued as a photographer until his retirement around 1984. The studio was based in Middle Road and New Bridge Road.Prov./Authen.: Purchased online by Paul Costigan. Curator has viewed the artefact and finds no reason to doubt its authenticity.
