This porcelain cup was provided by the Istana Household for Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s use. While it is a Japanese chawanmushi cup, Mr Lee used it for drinking water as it has a cover to keep his water warm. The cup and its cover were placed on the wooden tray on his office desk. This was the last cup used by Mr Lee up until his last days in the office.
