Gift of the family of Forbes Wallace
This identity disc belonged to Captain Forbes Wallace, an officer with the Federated Malay States police who also served in the Territorial Army Reserve of Officers. After being activated during the Japanese invasion of Malaya, he was captured during the fall of Singapore. All prisoners would have had an identity disc containing their nationality, rank, and service number. Wallace's service number on his tag, 24709, was a false service number as he could not remember the real one. He used his birthday (24th July 1909) for the false number.
