This aiguillette belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Saito Kaizo, the chief of staff of Lieutenant General Itsuki Toshio, who formerly commanded the Japanese occupation forces on Car Nicobar. Lt. Col. Saito was one of the sixteen Japanese officers tried in Singapore in 1946 regarding the treatment of civilians on Car Nicobar.
