Parachute cloth and shrapnel belonging to Prisoner-of-war Private Edward Charles Hardey

This piece of parachute cloth and shrapnel belonged to Private Edward Charles Hardey of the 2/4th Machine Gun Battalion, 2nd Australian Imperial Force. The parachute cloth is made of silk, as most parachutes were in that era. Hardey was injured during the battle for Singapore and the shrapnel is likely from his wound.
