Lui Hock Seng (b. 1937) is a self-taught photographer who was active on the scene during the 1960s and 1970s. His works belong to the pictorial photography movement and his pictures largely depict the landscapes of trades of a rapidly-changing Singapore during the 1960s and 1970s. This photograph of fishmongers at Ellenborough Market, located by the Singapore River, was taken early in the morning.
