Three Wedding Saris belonging to Mrs Karthigesu

M Karthigesu was a prominent lawyer, who rose to the position of Judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore (Nov 1990-Jun 1993) and later, theCourt of Appeal (Jul 1993-Jul 1999). athi Karthigesu is one of the early proponents of Indian classical dance in Singapore. She learned Bharatanatyam through her association with the Indian Fine Arts Society, and followed it up with other forms of Indian classical dance. They were married in Singapore in 1953. The three saris were worn by Mrs Karthigesu for her wedding ceremony, wedding reception, and her first entrance to her husband's home after marriage.
