M Karthigesu was a prominent lawyer, who rose to the position of Judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore (Nov 1990-Jun 1993) and later, theCourt of Appeal (Jul 1993-Jul 1999). He also served with the RAF in his youth. This portrait of M Karthigesu as a young boy is also indicative of his prosperous family background.
