Brochure of Kalari Payat

Originating from the Indian subcontinent, the Indian martial arts of Silambam and Kalari-Payat was introduced to Malaya through Master Marama Assan Ebenezer Dharmaraj Nadar who set-up the Kalari-Payat club in Ipoh, Malaysia in 1938. Following his father’s footsteps, Master E Edward founded the Kalari-Payat Silambam Centre in Singapore in 1970s, and it was officially registered under the Singapore Martial Arts Association in 1988. This Centre attracted the participation of many Indians in Singapore, who were taught Indian Martial Arts using the traditional weapons and graded based on an International Gradin System, which was introduced by Master E Edward.
