Salver presented by Mount Alvernia Hospital to PM Lee Kuan Yew

This salver was presented to Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew to commemorate the opening of the new extension of Mount Alvernia Hospital on 21 September 1971. The $2-million extension was opened a decade after the Catholic missionary hospital was officially established by the Sisters from the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood. During his opening speech, PM Lee expressed his hope that Singapore would be able to provide a wide spectrum of specialist medical treatment for anyone who sought them in the coming years.
