This is a lace sample, consisting of tiny clusters and 3 larger leaves. It belonged to Sylvia Kho, one of Singapore's earliest bridal designers. Although she had learnt Peranakan beadwork and sewing from her mother, she was best known for her western-style wedding gowns. Her dresses were known for their quality, and she would personally source lace and other materials on her trips to Europe and USA. At her peak Sylvia Kho operated three boutiques, and its clientele included brides of wealthy businessmen, politicians, and members of royalty from the region. She was inducted into the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame in 2017.
