On 29 March 2015, Singapore bade farewell to Lee Kuan Yew with a 21-gun salute which took place after his cortege left Parliament House for the State Funeral. This artillery shell was fired from one of four ceremonial 25-pounder howitzers by gunners of the 21st Battalion Singapore Artillery. It was subsequently presented to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who donated it to the National Heritage Board.
