This pair of tombstones found at Bukit Brown Cemetery belonged to Mr Tok Cheng Tuan and his wife, Mdm Oon Tuan Cheng. Their graves have since been exhumed and the tombstones donated to the museum. These tombstones have a very interesting pair of shields as an unusually aesthetic feature on a pair of Chinese tombs. These large stone shields contain the photographs of each of the deceased and demonstrates the European influence on Peranakan tastes at the time.
