Rock on the road to Western Hill

Charles Henry Cazalet (1818-1860) was an artist-traveller in the 19th century. Born in India and educated in Southampton and Paris, Cazalet spent three years in Penang between 1856 to 1859 as part of his duties, during which he made several watercolours. These early views of port cities such as Penang presents a broader history into 19th century impressions of the Straits Settlements.
