This Japanese woodblock print depicts the Schllaak, a merchant ship of the Dutch East India Company. The text written on the print describes the Dutch, Holland, shipping activities in and out of Nagasaki, types of goods carried, and more. It was written by Shihei Hayashi (1738–1793), a Japanese military scholar, many years after the Schllaak was active. Foreign ships were a popular subject for Nagasaki printmakers.
