Emily of Emerald Hill Edinburgh manuscript

This is the typed script of the performance of Emily of Emerald Hill performed at the 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth festival signed by the playwright. Emily of Emerald Hill was the first Singaporean play to be performed overseas at an international festival, and continues to be the country’s most produced and travelled play to date. Stella Kon is an award-winning Singapore playwright whose most important work was the 1983 one-woman play, Emily of Emerald Hill. She is also a descendent of two prominent Peranakan philanthropists, Tan Tock Seng and Dr Lim Boon Keng.
