Military medals were usually presented to individual National Serviceman who exhibited commendable qualities during his service in the Singapore Armed Forces, the Singapore Police Force or the Singapore Civil Defence Force. These artefacts were part of the selection in the time capsule buried in 1990 by then DPM Ong Teng Cheong to celebrate Singapore’s 50th anniversary of independence in 2015.
