This red and cream batik sarong is decorated with a repeated bouquet motif, known as buketan. The borders of the sarong are also decorated with flowers while the background of the red panel (kepala) is filled with white rosettes. The sarong is important because it is stamped with the name of the workshop and date of production.Batik sarongs such as this were worn by Peranakan women and paired with a kebaya.
