Per Stoomvaart My Nederland Naar Java

This is a sketchbook by Dutch artist Willy (Willem) Sluiter, called 'My Nederland Naar Java', dating to the 1920s. Sluiter produced paintings, watercolours and drawings of both portraits and political cartoons, caricatures and lithographs. This book includes numerous sketches of the people of Java, depicted from Sluiter's privileged perspective, for example, showing Javanese men serving drinks to European women on a ship.
