This is a collection of fictional stories written by Rounsevelle Wildman and set in Malaya. They are drawn from Wildman’s time in this region – he was a US diplomat based in Singapore at the end of the 19th century. Some of the tales, though fictional, bear strong resemblance to what might have been his reality: he mentions eating mangosteen and reading the Straits Times, for example.
