Inside-painted snuff bottles were first produced in the early 19th century and collected for their aesthetic sensibilities than utilitarian function. This rock crystal snuff bottle of miniature flattened rectangular shape is painted on the inside with mountain landscapes and signed, 'Song Xuan Zhuren zuo' (松轩主人作). More research is required on the identity of the painter.
