Technique
Chow uses a large format camera, his custom-made Ebony 45 with Schneider, Rodenstock and Nikkor lenses, together with the defunct Polaroid PN Type 51 and 55 films. These films required Chow to process the films immediately after taking the picture. Chemicals were brought onsite and kept in air-tight canisters so that the processed films were stored inside till he reached home. Because of the process, each image was unique in its own way, and depending on how the chemicals had flowed, the chemical streaks created on each image were different. The films are then transferred into prints and presented in Diasec, a process which mounts prints onto acrylic glass. This is the first time that this process is practised in the whole of Southeast Asia.
