This is a Roneo Vickers stencil printing machine, which in the early 1970s represented the latest in document reproduction technology before the advent of the photocopier. The device belonged to the Shan Typewriting Company, which was one of the many small printing companies that provided Chinese typing and printing services for clan associations and schools during 1970s and 1980s. Items printed by the company included the minutes of meetings, study notes, song sheets, notices and event flyers.
