This midnight blue cheongsam with cap sleeves has a nipped in waist which is typical of the 1950s Western silhouette. Such a trend was not only seen in cheongsam, but also in other ethnic costumes such as sari and sarong kebaya.In the 1950s and early 1960s, socialites and film stars such as Lin Dai were often spotted in the latest designs of cheongsam. The cheongsam was at its most stylish and was most commonly worn at functions in Singapore during that time.
