Jim Thompson silk jacket with butterfly motif all over worn by Mdm. Kwa Geok Choo

This Jim Thompson jacket was worn by Mdm. Kwa Geok Choo, the late wife of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. Kwa used to wear cheongsam for functions but after suffering from her first stroke in 2003 she preferred to wear trousers, sometimes topped with jackets. Jim Thompson, or James Harrison Wilson Thompson, was an American businessman who developed the Thai silk industry in the 1950s and 60s.
