Born in 1984 in Cambodia, Than Sok graduated from Reyum Art School, Phnom Penh in 2005. From 2005 to 2007, Sok continued his studies at the experimental Reyum Workshop program, where his artistic practice shifted to exploring everyday materials. Sok has participated in numerous exhibitions in Cambodia (2010) and Japan (2006).In making a statement about the destructive power of mankind, attributed to hypocrisy present in society, a ‘ktome’ (spirit house) is set ablaze in the video. During its gradual ruin there is a brief ceremony of prayer. The presence of hands in the video underscores the pervasive Cambodian proverb: Negligence leads to loss; attention preserves.
