Printed paper of Hup Huat Paper Products (合发纸业)

This paper was printed using metal plates. The two designs are meant to be printed on both sides of a paper bag. The paper was originally kept with its respective metal plates. The company was established in 1942 and was formerly known as Chop Hup Huat Paper Bags Manufacturer. The business is run by the Ho family, who previously had their shop in Duxton Road before moving to its present location at Silat Avenue. In the 1980s, the brothers who had taken over the business from their father decided to focus on supplying paper as well as red and white twine, rather than making paper bags, as the latter proved unprofitable. The metal plates attest to the change in the business nature, name and location of the shop.
