This cylindrical brush pot features a figural scene carved on bamboo applied onto the vessel's finely grained wood. The three robed figures stand around a large vat, and two of them appear to be sampling its contents. The three may be identified as 'The Vinegar Tasters' representing the three systems of belief - Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism.
