This is the base of a box with the label, ‘Capitol Embroidery and Dressmaking School’. The school was located at 56 Niven Road, Singapore. The box contained a sleeveless pink satin cheongsam which was machine-sewn by the donor’s grandmother and worn by the donor’s mother on her wedding day.
