The Holiday Inn Hotel at Scotts Road

The Holiday Inn Hotel was a four star hotel that was established in March 1974 and owned by hotelier Tan Sri Khoo Teck Puat. It was renamed the Royal Holiday Inn in 1983 when Khoo sold the property to Sajahtera Investments, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Brunei Investment Agency. With the tourist boom and growing demands for rooms, the hotel was refurbished in 1990 and was relaunched as the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza. Renovation works to transform it to a five star hotel were completed in 1997 and it reopened as the Royal Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was renamed the Royal Plaza on Scotts in 1999.
