This is an invitation card given to a guest of ‘The World of Oil’ exhibit at the Singapore Constitution Exposition, which opened on 31 January 1959. The Exposition lasted for two months and its purpose was to commemorate Singapore’s transition from colonial status to self-government. About 450 exhibiting booths and 3,000 participants, including government boards, industrialists and merchants participated in the exhibition.
