This is a stamp from a set of eight jointly issued by Singapore and Korea depicting the traditional wedding costumes in both countries. Chinese traditional wedding costumes are easily indentified by their prominent ‘lucky’ shade of red. The bride is wearing a two-piece outfit called the hong qua, which is usually embroidered with golden phoenixes as well as chrysanthemums and peonies, flowers that symbolise wealth and good fortune.
