Stamp featuring the Hawksbill Turtle and Remora

This is a stamp depicting the interdependent relationship between the remora and the hawksbill turtle. The remora attaches itself to the turtle and feeds off the food remnants and parasites on the turtle’s body. The stamp belongs to a set of four titled ‘Nature Series – Shores and Reefs’, which was issued as part of a programme to promote greater awareness, appreciation and protection of Singapore’s natural heritage.
