Stamp featuring the Sea Urchin and Razorfish

This is a stamp depicting the interdependent relationship between the razorfish and its sea urchin host. The razorfish lives within the long spines of the urchin for protection and, in turn, picks off parasites from the body of the urchin. The stamp belongs to a set of four titled ‘Nature Series – Shores and Reefs’, which was issued as part of a programme to promote greater awareness, appreciation and protection of Singapore’s natural heritage.
