Pink floral blouse

This pink silk blouse or sam is decorated with small floral motifs all over. The collar is high and is decorated with beautiful flower buttons. The side of the sam is secured by four elaborate flower buttons. It is also decorated with double piping (grey and pink) which helped to further accentuate the tight fitting silhouette of the blouse. It is most likely worn with a knee length or slightly below the knee skirt, a fashion which was popular at that time. This blouse belonged to Mrs Kwok Swee Ying, the donor’s mother, Mr Kenson Kwok. She probably wore this sam before she married her husband in the 1930s.
