Neptune Theatre Restaurant signage

By the 1970s, the ‘Worlds’ amusement parks saw their star dim and overtaken by other night entertainment places. Neptune Theatre officially opened at Collyer Quay in October 1972, at a cost of more than $5 million, and was the largest and most popular theatre restaurant in Singapore. It was a hot venue for night clubbing in the 1970s and 1980s. Neptune was also famous for its nightly topless revues and had its own resident troupe, the Neptune Dance Revue (disbanded in 1986).
