This pair of fan-shaped stands are known as 'zitan yanshi zaozi'. The style of the stands is simple and elegant with a zitan frame inlaid with marble panel. It was probably used to display small items in a scholar’s studio. Zitan is a rare tropical wood of the rosewood family.
